Is the XBox 360 hype over?

Are you talking about the room w/ the corpse on the desk?
[/b]
yeah man, everytime i get there nothing happens, i end up hoping the random missiles hit the corpse or something...
suggestions?

Ok, when you get there, make sure you have grenades.
To advance, you have to make sure the corpse gets detsroyed, either by your grenades, or by the missiles, just make sure the corpse gets destroyed.

After that, try tossing a few grenades on the "shaded" squares to the south side of the desk but between the two yellow pipes.
if the corpse is destroyed, and you grenade the right spot, something will appear. ;)

Fluffy, its refreshing to finally find someone else who is more excited about the revolutions, its about time someone else realized where all the gaming potential is! Yay for nintendo revolutions I can't wait for the controller!!!!

Folks are severly underestimating the fun that will be delivered with the Revolution. New console fans and old ones alike are gonna want this system.

Not to mention the Gamecube was the only system to supply quality games that were actually a challenge both physically (hand eye coordination) and mentally (okay, it wasn't rocket science, but it at least made you think of what to do next) in both Resident Evil 4 and Metroid Prime 1/2. Folks who didn't play those games missed out on some serious shit.

im unimpressed with the new consoles...ill wait til i go to college and get an xps..or some sort of alienware laptop :)

you do realize we are talking about consoles, NOT computers right lol? when your talking a $300-400 console vs a $3000-$5000 computer, theres a diff.

I had also heard that since the revolutions has duel processors it will hold up against the 360 and only be a little shy of the ps3 graphics wise, but its apparently going to be significantly cheaper. Also i had read somewhere that the game coding for the revolutions system is going to be easier.

I know that many game producers where angry at sony and microsoft for choosing a form that they where not familiar with,so I expect a lot more independent game makers putting things out on the revolutions, plus, when the big companies make their games they will definately release their game on the revolutions. So I expect a huge selection of games for the revolutions, which didn't really happend with the game cube. but even without any other games except nintendo's own games, it still wins because anyone who can resist classic characters like mario and link is probably a mental case.

i read that nintendo are going to make every single nintendo game ever made available to download free when you buy the console.

My one concern is the controler...yeah its cool but its going to make porting games designed for the ps3/360 very hard for developers...i just hope they design a standard controler to go with it.

nintendo have always been good at making innovative and fun games even tho i thought gamecube was a disaster...but we will see.

As I posted earlier (maybe in another thread) the Revolution will allow you to download NES, SNES and N64 games to play on the revolution. I do not think Gamecube games will be available, also fo note I do not believe it is free. I thought there were some nominal costs to the service.

My PS2 hasn't had any flaw since I bought it, about 4 years?!. And it has HEAVY use, Sometimes i left it on 10 to 12 hours a day, maybe more. I watch a lot of anime and/or play long periods of time. Also, I used it during the night and then mooby used it during the day. So for around 3 years it had a 15-20 hrs use a day.

As long as the Tom Cruise movies, I love him :)
I don't like his ideas, and personality outside of stage. But in the movies, he is awesome! :)

Nintendo has come out with the worst control designs ever. The N64 was WAY TOO BIG for my hands, Xbox too, it was a pain. The Nes was too small (designed for children I guess). The Super Famicon was ok. PS has the best so far :)
There are third party companies that design controllers similar to the PS for PC/MAC/Xbox... and some other platforms. :)

The entire library won't be available, but most of the popular ones will be.
There will be fees, whether they be monetary or in terms of earned "points" that one could exchange for games to d/l.

You can see an early draft of the Revs download interface here:

http://www.classicgamer.com/revolution.htm

This was part of a test marketing intiative nintendo conducted.

The big issue plaguing Nintendo is the lack of support by many of the major 3rd party developpers.

Nintendo does make good games, but the lack of support by the biggest studios really hurt the Gamecube, and will hurt the Revolution.

I really believe this will be N's last hardware adventure.
I think they'll go strictly into game development like Sega/Sammy.
Time will tell.

Yeah the lack of 3rd party games really hurt the Cube. Agree with you everywhere except the last comment about Revolution being the last machine N makes...with the way it sells globally, I can't honestly see them giving up on that market share.

As for controllers, loved the PS1/2 controller, the thing just worked right, was able to do complicated 5-6 button sequences (holding some button down, while sliding onto others, all the while manipulating the analog sticks) with ease. The Mechwarrior game for the PS1 was a perfect example of that. Also liked the Gamecube controller (Wavebird)...could not stand the XBox controller, and the PS3's controller looks like it was developed by monkeys...blind, communist, crack-smoking monkeys.

They'll have access to produce the other controllers aswell, you'll see. Third party companies are going to have a feast with that. :)

seriously man, they said that if you didn't like the new controller that they will have a special casing that will convert it into a "normal" controler. I personally am very excited about this new controller, no movement is more easy to understand than your own bodies movements. I think that a lot of people think that you will be swinging this thing around like a sword or something, but its actually going to be more like the movement you make with your mouse every day at your computer.

this is going to be a gamble, but I honestly feel that if there is a next next generation controller, that it will be a copy of this and then all the haters will think its the greatest when it comes out on their precious playstation.

even if the system "flops" in the states, I doubt it will flop anywhere else. Nintendo has a huge cult fan base, and don't expect then to dissappear anytime soon.

I personally am only going to pick up a revolutions this round of consoles.

i read the first page, nothing else. i'm waiting for revolution cause i'm diehard nintendo fan. i will personally lead the mob to destroy xbox for what they did to rareware, and PS i just couldn't give a damn about.

oh yea, just read whewa's post above me.. cult fan base... lol... you have no idea :P

You do realize there is a point to the controller being that way, right? Their plan is to have that controller react to movement. So, you want to slash your sword, swing the controller in a slashing motion.

/takes $1 bet
/awaits his million dollar payment.

i understand its purpose. but
1) too advance probably for nintendo's main buyer-ie 5 yr olds. they dont make too many adult games compaired to the 15,000 Pokemon games put out.
2)Im playing a video game. I dont give a crap about "swing my sword by moving my hand" crap. i want to press "A" to swing my sword, nothing else. its a console not a computer, companies need to realize this fact
3) future or not, innovative or not, its still looks stupid, gay, and ugly.

Not like PS3's boomarangs are much better...
