USS Liberty

Past mistakes, even current mistakes, do not mean that the American people do not want justice for the world.

Agreed when and if they see the mistake they display the sincerity to return from it. I like US and i dont come to conclusions lightly, i am a practical person and i am well aware of the difficulties when global politics are concerned.

I decided to bring this info for the ppl of this forums to make them think in a broader perspective. My experience taught me if you want to solve a problem, you need to be able to place yourself in your opposite and see things from his eyes. Then only u can understand how to solve a problem. I am not trying to start a pissing contest nor my aim is to blame US. The fact is when u judge someone you need to put rights and wrongs to the scale and for me rights for US overweights wrongs. It also gives me hope that things can be better.

The whole reason I posted the story about the Saratoga is because as a 2 time NATO sailor I could never forget the story whenever I saw an old US ship flying with a turkish flag... after the accident we sold a few ships at a discount to apologize...

Yes. One of the ships, the Gemlik (i think) just came out of the shipyards, and it was amazingly clean and well kept...
