I've got an ATI x800, and I had an Nvidia GeForce TI 4200 before that. IMO, ATI has better hardware, and Nvidia has better software and support. That's all I have to say about that.

7800 GTX before that I had an ATI x800 GT before that an ATI 9700

This is my second nvidia card and I now prefer them. They meet or beat the power of any ATI card and the cooling solutions are a hell of alot quieter.

just from what i have heard, the 512mb GTX performs better in games than the gx2

oops i miss read. i meant the 7900 GTX

actually....from looking at benchmarks, the 512mb version of the 7800gtx out performs the GX2

7900GTX in SLI outperform this card. Of course now you can put 2 of the cards in SLI for quad-card performance and they smoke the competition.

Almost forgot. This card doesn't shine until you get into the high resolutions, which is the next purchase I make.
