Women are making their move, in the corporate sector we are starting to become the majority in upper management, we are now starting to show a large presence in informtation technology and engineering. Yes boy we are a force to reckon with . And unlike so many of you who seek the instant gratification of power power power, we carefully collect it, nurture it and when the time is right release it. Hell forbes did an article on powerful women and their TROPHY HUSBANDS yes boys you are know being sought after as the home maker!

Wait wait wait.. guys are saying stay home and get a free ride while they do all the work, deal with the bills, the stress, the having to shovel 2 feet of snow off your car in the winter *for the arses stuck in michigan with no garage* All I have to do is stay home, raise my kid *which I wouldn't trust him home alone all day watching anyway*, clean the house *which again, wouldn't trust him to clean that chit right since guys can't even aim right to not miss the toilet bowl* and cook dinner? *which trust me, you fake not knowing how to cook by burning a few meals, adding extra salt, or just plain making a mess of the meal and they stop asking you to cook and do it themselves or start ordering takeout whenever you want it* Hell yeah its a mans world... I'd take the free ride. Besides that work crap you women keep talking about kind of gets in the way of my morning nap time

alright. i was really going to leave this entire thread alone, but i can't help it. this is the part where youre all going to start liking me less and less. I am sick to death of hearing about all this horseshit "women's empowerment" crap. How can you be so proud of women being the majority in management and whatnot when the only reason for it is that you (women in general, not attacking anyone specifically) bitched and bitched and bitched about equality until all of these corporations became so afraid of our bullshit liberal gov't that they started laxing standards for women- don't argue this, it'll fall on deaf ears. Women are GIVEN most things they have, strictly because the person giving either is sexually attracted to them, or because they are AFRAID of a GENDER DISCRIMINATION SUIT. I am full aware that there are, in fact, plenty of women out there who have earned what they have, perhaps for the most part, but your (again, women in general) entire world has been made free for the taking by years and years of bitching and griping. I have no problem with equal opportunity, but it needs to be EQUAL. ACROSS THE BOARD. Nowadays, again thanks to our wonderfully liberal government, unless you are a woman or a minority, you get nothing unless you kill yourself to get it. It is absolute bullshit, in every sense of the phrase that can be interpreted.

just to speak a bit on my own behalf, syn, i never said that women in positions of management, or women in there jobs in general, do not know what they are doing. I fully understand and appreciate the fact that there are women who beat and exceed men in their fields- my point is simply that it is far easier for women and minorities to exceed in their fields, because regardless of knowledge, skill, or intent, there is always going to be an underlying fear (as far as the employer is concerned) of being accused of gender discrimination if they were to hold the employee back.

The interesting thing is that everyone is right.
Deviant, it's not just women but every minority. Yes they have problems getting into the office world because of discrimination, but now so do caucasian males simply because every corporation needs x% of certain minorities in order to be kosher with the government based on the # of employees. So yeah, they get screwed too now.
There are women who take advantage of being women and use that to force their way into an office. Either through their looks, through sex, or through mind games. It's sad, and wrong, but it's done.
There are women who are legitamately good for businesses. They aren't afraid of change, and work towards awesome goals. This fact has nothing to do with their gender.
Times appeared simpler before, but they really were just as complex. Women had to fight for their voices in the homefront, and were often either abused or neglected. They had to fight to raise their children in their beliefs, and often saw their girls married too young, and their boys taken into adulthood too fast.
I think that whenever someone is a victim, others see how people try to support them. They then try to make themselves out to be victims too in order to get this same type of support. It's really sad when a nation that was as strong as ours simply looks for the next hand out.
