Whats up Aussie? Dude there is nothing that will compare to the high point of SWG.
And Tiv, thats the problem with this system they have in place now. Once you get to level 90, then what? Its going to attract a large number of people possible by the Star Wars name but after they achieve 90, I doubt many will hang around for an extended period of time.
Pre CU there were so many different mobs and creatures to kill and in the hope you'd actually get an exceptional or legendary weapon was always there. I could log on Pre CU and send a tell and be krayt hunting within minutes, same with elders or the vette for that matter. DWB was hard and a lot of fun, now you can walk around in it with no fear of even being touched.
The Geo Cave actually had a point, Acklay was a fun fight, not all that hard but the drops were good. Acklay bones, poison enhancements, RIS schemes... now what is there? The OR saber hilt and the master cloak, thats just about all I hear. Don't get me wrong I plan on coming back for a month or so to get to lvl 90 and get my OR saber. But I don't think I'd be able to play for an extended period of time. The combat really isn't all that fun to me, its point and click.
You have no complexity to combat. I use to love queuing up attacks and clearing them to heal or stand as fast as I could to keep myself alive. Now there isn't even a kd move. Its stand and run around while people try to find you with their cursor more often than they can find you. We use to have kneel, prone, stand, kd and the states dizzy, stun, blind, bleed, poison, disease... now they have snared and rooted with poison and disease which are a joke.
For everyone that loves the NGE I'm sorry guys but its nothing of what the game was set out to be. You say its a different game, its a different combat system, the game is still the same. The only thing its missing is its loyal customers, who SOE stabbed in the back to make it more "iconic." Tony said something to me tonight and I kinda laughed then thought to myself "man thats sad", he told me he had 64 people on his buddy list and I was the only person online. I can still remember the days when I had over 100 people on my buddy list and I'd log on and easily 30-40 of them were online if not more. I've got 36 people on my list as of right now, the most I've had on at a single time is 4.
I've finished my legacy quests, they were by far the most repetative thing I've done since the Pre CU jedi grind of lairs after lairs after lairs. They set out to make it a more interesting and fun game to play. Its the same damn thing over and over and over. Go here, kill this, go here kill this, go talk to him, kill this, come back go kill this, rinse repeat. I've gotten to lvl 36 as of right now in 2 days worth of playing. Noah was gracious enough to let me borrow his acct to get back in the swing of things til I get Hammie back up and running. He doesn't have Kashyyyk or Mustafar. So what right? Wrong, I have nothing to kill, if I go to Dantooine everything is level 50+ and I die instantly, Dath is no different. So stay on Corellia and fight since its the last of the legacy quests and the mobs are the highest level. Highest lvl mob around is lvl 32, which isn't too bad, they give about 120 xp a kill. My next level is 83k away. Don't get me wrong its doable, but I'll be damned if I have to walk around and kill 800 of those lil bastards to gain a level and then turn around and do it 1000 more times.
Its cut and dry, you do your legacy, then head to the expansions you basically have to buy to continue the game and once you reach level 90 and get the little bit of loot you want then you can either PvP or log off. The game is a sad former shadow of itself and its depressing to see how a game that was so good has fallen so far.
