Try this

that was as confusioning as the last page rofl..

I am good at computer and stuff I have no idea about this stuff

If you got the money, go with a digital slr camera. I spent my money on a canon digital rebel and you will be amazed at how much better your pictures are when you actually see what you are taking a picture of. I don't regret it spending my money on it. they are spendy though. I've got over 900 invested in mine so far, but i got some nice lenses and other stuff.

It all depends on what you want to use it for. Kind of like saying you want to buy a car. If you plan on reproducing large photos like 5x7 and up the higher the pixel you want. Another thing is you want optical zoom being alot so you can use it like a real camera. Remember opticial not digital zoom.

so youve had your picture taken...100000000000 times?

yeah, the first thing you need to decide is what is it for...
are you wanting to point and click with good quality, or you wanting something professional. SLR cameras are going to be better cameras, but you can still get a good camera without spending that much and you won't have to worry about changing lenses and whatnot.
I personally own a midrange non-slr camera that works fine for regular camera duties, but I am also a remote sensing specialist and have had work cameras worth anywhere from 6k to 80k.
