Well when hers ended up being bigger, that was probably the biggest shock of them all :D

Spiders i dont mind so much they usually stay hidden and out of your way now bees fly all up into your face and to people that arent close enough to see the bee think your having some kinda spasm ducking dodging and swinging at the air.

colim's phobia was a result of his brother lol. myself i'm not bothered by them, more intrigued until they start to bite. then they die. the hornets and wasps i can do without however. was playing baseball one day and one landed on my middle finger without me noticing. i thought my finger was just itching so i went to scratch it. stung the big knuckle, swelled up like a balloon.

If you want to split hairs one is merely a dislike where arachnophobia is a paralyzing fear where you cannot function and just freeze in place.

arachniphobia is an intense, obsessive fear of spiders, such as not being able to watch a movie with spiders in it, or in colim's case, play a game with spiders as one of the creatures. just a regular fear of spiders is similar to the fear of the unknown, and is commonplace. you don't know what the spider will do, therefore you are afraid of it
