Wow....no Slash?
Hey, you don't have to list the guy #1, but not even in the top 100?
69 guys better than Eddie Van Halen?
Someone was on crack when they made this list.

so who are the top 100 bass players?
[/b]
They didn't have a list for that...

There were a few lists, but you can see them for yourself at en.wikipedia.org . . . just do a search for Rolling Stone and you'll see the lists near the bottom of the page...

Jerry Garcia?
Kurt Cobain?

Invalid list.
[/b]
The listing also takes into account the fact that these people are influential also, as well as being great players. Cobain was good, and most do not argue his influences and success gave us that grey period in music history known as grunge... of course he didn't start it, but Nirvana's success made it possible.

Cobain was a phenomenal song writer and lyrist, he was an average guitar player, and an average singer. Same goes with Garcia, those guys were better than any guitarist cause they actually wrote the songs, which is ten times harder than playing them.

As for that list, meh. Some of the folks on there just don't make any sense, it was almost like they just started naming guitarist's names off the top of their head instead of trying to "rank" them. WTF is Eddie doing that low?!?!?!
