My buddy passed me on a nugget of knowledge. If you are banging some dude's girl make sure she has a one story house. True story my buddy got stuck on a second floor some dude came home early lol.

now how the heck can you be 100% sure all the way over there?

would the altinator be bad as well if that is out the bat will not charge...
[/b]

Or the starter, or wet wires (hence the rain question), or several other things that it could be before you get to the battery. Sorry if the wannabe mechanics were trying to help because these are good things to know before calling a tow truck or trying to get jump started.

if you have AAA doesn't it make more sense to just have it looked at and taken care of then to fiddle with everything thinking what it might be? I'd rather be sure and have it done right.

good to know, but if your luck is anywhere near as bad as mine, keep an eye on everything that wasn't wrong previously...

If you can figure out if it is either a battery that needs to be jumped, or a wet wire situation, then yeah calling AAA and siting there waiting the hour and paying the extra charge if you have to get towed outside of coverage doesn't make sense.

Knowledge always makes more sense then blinding trust.

Nope, they can't do anything wrong with it. I can always sue. ;) They fear that. Besides they have always fixed it fine. Or in this case do maintenance and tune up, cause it has never gone wrong.

My car comes with the back up of MB, they'll fix it or change it if something goes wrong. They also do maintenance for free. the only thing that they charge me are parts and extra liquids. They also Tow it and lend/rent me a car when mine is going to be days in the shop. it's Full Service ;)
