But these new-fangled fax/email/copier/printers scare me!

So I had to fax in some paperwork to the hospital asap. I went to the first fax machine, and it wasn't taking in the sheets. So I went to the "new" one.

It looked like a monster. It had a scanner on it and a qwerty keyboard. I bet I could have played SWG on it. So I tell it I want to send a fax, and put the #'s in. I put my paperwork in the feed mechanism and hit the big green button. It sucks my papers in, and then nothing. A green light flashes under data.

I've no idea if it worked (and if it didn't what I'm going to do...). I'll find out when I call back in about 15 and ask.

I feel like such a newb.

Ahh don't be B) you no longer hear the faxing sounds. They work if they do not most of those Multifunction machines spit out a report if dialing failed.

If you are intimidated with that, I just finished building a Faxserver for a client that can route 20 different fax numbers to different departments and users by their email and all of them can fax directly from their desktop and or email. Many of them also have scanners at tehir desks that they can scan and fax as well........paperless office here we come :D

We have scanners. And I've had E-faxes before on my own pc. But this thing made the shi-urinal look simple.

I feel the same way about the new mobile phones we have here. COMPLICATED!!!!!!

I miss my rotary dial phone with teh big jeezler bell ringing when someoen called. LOL
