Who said I was firing bullets?

Let's face it people we as gamers like unbalanced. I mean it is a sense of achievement and accomplishment. Can you imagine running an Olympic race and everyone getting a gold metal? There has to be something to aspire to and want to become to make a game challenging. Making everyone equal is not the solution.
[/b]

I never understood this need for making everything even in a game... isn't that what the NGE was supposed to do? It makes no sense, life s not perfectly balanced and even and with no ambition to do better what do you have?

reminds me of that Scene in Serenity when they find out what the evil dudes did to that planet.

The way it is now, the proffesssions are balanced, but who's better is really depending on the skill of the player, and their equipment loadout. Personally a better system than the completely broken CU, though, nothing will ever top Pre-CU.

well, making everyone equal doesnt work in a MMORPG. it works fine in an xbox or ps2 game. big differnce, cause that xbox game will be done in like 3 weeks tops

Yeah, you don't want "balanced" as in "same", you want balance as in class differences, aka rock/paper/scissor balanced. Throw in player skill as the X factor and there is a combat system.

The NGE is more like a console game now, like take Halo 2 for example. Everyone has the same health, shields, etc. Its the player skill that seperates the players, and personally, I think that's how it should be compared to someone who AFK spun Quenker layers for a few months.

And that is essentially how the NGE is.

I agree with El-D on this. I think that gamers like it being unbalanced for the most part. I mean if we aren't the PVP immortals, than we drool over them. And now it feels like, there isn't that person on a pedalstal anymore. It's still fun, just not as much to me.

The only unbalanced system I liked was Pre-CU. The CU was terrible. Few really realise this though.

me too I watch it many many many times and you know it never gets tiresome. It is still funny as hell.

I'll say it again. The failings of the NGE have absolutley NOTHING to do with the combat system. Though I could never compete in combat with the ping I get from WH.

To me, I was on my crafter, walking through the ghost town of dead shops that is south Coronet. Its that kind of shit I miss, back when that place was crowded with live shops, everyone running around shopping, the people, my friends. The economy before they ruined crafting.

Bahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

well, i see your point about AFKers. they should be out, but for everyone equal- everyone could be equal- everyone had the same chocie of professions and mixing, and i hate to say could copy off others. And what made you a better player was the skills you had as that jedi or bounty hunter.

Pre- NGE, 1 bounty hunter could kill 35 jedis straight, all the same mixture of skill trees, then gets against one that wipes the floor with him. why? because of the skills of that jedi.

And do you think its fair for a dancer to be able to just walk past unharmed all the lvl 90 creatures that are killing you and your group?

As far as I'm concearned the CU doesn't count. That system sucked. There was no real skill. It was all about Pre-CU Pearls and Jedi.

QFE. Just cause you had the skill trees didn't mean you didn't have to have some brains. You had to know your strengths and your weaknesses and fight accordingly. Only issue with pre cu was dots. I still remember that 999 health tick pistol or rifle. Guess what. I beat that person against 3 people ALL cause that person didn't have the same level of combat skill I had. I used tactics.
