Download speed/internet speed help

I run a 1.5meg-3meg internet speed or should. Ive stopped using wireless internet to try to speed this up but its still slow as hell. Im looking for some advice as to what I need to fix. Any info you need, just ask <3

Depends on what you're downloading, the location to the host server, and the capability of the host server.

Not sure if there's anything you can 'fix'...

Its the EQ2 trial. Why can some people get in in a few hours and I cant? I should have the speed.


Its starts at a reasonable time (i guess). But from like 4 hours it leaps up and up and up.

Do a CTRL+ALT+DEL and stop some of the fluff and monitor proggies from running, in case they're eating bandwidth.

I know when I downloaded EQ2 from IGN I was going at 300-400kb. But others further away from CA had lower speeds.

It took me around 3.5 hours to download.

And when you do finish the download and install, do a defragmentation on your computer, it helps
 
Did all that, direct connected to my modem, cleaned some stuff off etc.
But its all the same, started at 3 hrs and its slowly climbing, its like my dl speed is slowly slipping away.

Oh sorry, that's me syphoning the bandwidth out of your computer.

Noah's pretty darn good at sucking on a 'tube'...
