Oh man, all those guys are like 70 or 80, come in wearing hawaiian shirts, sandels and have crazy long white beards. They are quite scary, but they also have something like two PhDs each.
They like to spout off nonsense about future technologies then write a bunch of crappy papers no one ever reads. When someone asks me (or anyone else in my department) "How many people work in your company?", we like to reply "about half".
Needless to say, my dept. does things of a slightly more 'applied' nature.
