Yep, in Kentucky, you can now visit the "museum" dedicated to showing the truth about Creationism. If you are wondering how it might look, this picture sums it up better than any words ever could:

Not much more can be said.

Oh, the article that does try to say more is here:

EDIT: I missed the picture of the exhibit of a fully clothed Eve standing next to a plant grazing velociraptor.

not starting a holy war BUT these people are as bad as scientologists :P

Naw, not even close. They are basically just good people who are following some bad philosophy engendered by some even worse ecclesiastical history.

Scientology, on the other hand, is like zombie ecclesiastical history in the making. By that I mean it's like the revenant corrupted undead resurrection of Christian ecclesiastical history bereft of the soul.

/wonders if this post will incite a certain someone of WHies.com lore to appear to make our lives miserable again. :o

Ooh ooh!! Who would that be? I don't remember any insanely fundie christian idiots here.

Let's see, we have Atheist, Islamists, Catholics, Jews.... Who is Christian?

News, Catholics are "Christians." :)

And I'm an Episcopal (one of the most liberal Episcopalians you'll ever meet). I've got to say this Museum is disturbing to me. Who says everyone can't be right? I see that it does present "science" next to "creationism." But that's where the good points end..

I really don't understand clinging to a viewpoint to the exclusion of all others.

The people behind this museum are a particular group of crazies who believe everything in the bible is the word of god and has to be taken 100% literally as fact. So the bible says Noah took 2 of every animal into his ark and the entire planet flooded, or that Moses parted the Red Sea then those are historical events that really happened. The bible says the world is only a couple thousand years old, then that is fact. What about all the evidence of prehistoric fossils? Well of course they have some kind of goofy explanation about dinosaurs and people coexisting at the same time, and that's why the sily saddled dino.

The main problem with this "science" is that there is no science involved in it. They are trying so hard to make it seem like a legitimate science; but even in those pictures you can see where that falls apart. Like in the one where it says evolution is the word of 'man', and creationism is the word of 'god'; so who you gonna believe, man or god? That's all well and good, but that's not a scientific argument...

Real science uses scientific data to form a conclusion. The creationism people start out with a conclusion (the 'word of god' that is already known as 100% true no matter what), and then try to use scientific data to rationalize it. That's the difference.

Science has nothing to do with this thread. This is just to promote the shear insanity of this museum in Kentucky.

Eve, wearing a dress, standing next to a plant eating velociraptor.
