Believe it or not I am not familure with these --- so a brush up course please...

Can you download games, movies tv shows, music?

if so cn you get viruses easy liek old kaza and the like had?

I have bitTorrent downloaded because of darkness and light and am bored and wanted to play around.

Thanks

Not sure I downloaded at the advice of my software adviser Gomi but now don't know wtf is next. I am lazy and sure could look it up but like I said lazy.

Just use shareaza (http://www.shareaza.com). It lets you connect to the three biggest p2p networks (eDonkey, Gnutella2, and Gnutella 1) and it can also download torrents. if you get a torrent link from torrentspy, you can download it via shareaza. But most likely you will find a much larger userbase with the same file using the shareaza client.

i use torrents all the time i learned to use em myself sorry if i dont give you an answer your lookin for ill type it after im done eating lol

You are what known as an information tease!!!

Don't use torrents for pirate stuff 'cause it makes you upload (share) with other people, which can get you in trouble. They target sharers first because sharers cost them the most...

if you use shareaza to download torrents, you don't have to share files. Just download shareaza. WHen you click on the torrent link, it should automaticaly load it into Shareaza and download from there. Just be sure to connect to all networks from the file menu first

So what type of stuff can i download -- even with pirated stuff or no im an idiot :P

Music I dont care about but say I wanted to watch an episode of a TV show from last night or wanted to try out a game before purchasing it.

well if you know how to download files from torrents already there are a couple torrentsites i got to

isohunt.com
thepiratebay.org and
torrentspy.com (not sure if thats the right URL or not)

you can find almost any major tv show, any big game, any major software. Anything that can run on a computer. I downloaded Adobe Video Collection Pro (a $1500 software suite) for free. I've downloaded GTA:SA, SimCity4, and more from there as well. I've downloaded episodes of Real Time With Bill Maher that i've missed. And i've downloaded lesbian porn videos....in DVD quality.

yes, you can search by category via tha program itself. it has a built in search feature. you have MANY search options. for example, you can search by file type, such as music, movie, application, etc.

so the movies are the actual movies and games? not random porn with viruses galore? like when i used winmx all the movies were porn with viruses...

Thats kind of what i was wondering -- say i wanted to try a game -- civilization iv, how would i kow it is a full file and not a virus?

Or if i wanted to dl a pron, any one how would i know to be safe ? or is it stil lall chance

this is where you gotta have some sort of knowledge about what is real and what isnt. Your best bet into downloading the REAL game is to search for the application and download the CD Image (so the ISO, or BIN and CUE) or download the RAR or zip. But be sure the file size is REALISTIC. If Civ IV is like 2 CDs in the box, don't expect to be getting the real full game with a 200MB download. Also, when you serach for something, sort files by Download SPeed (fastest to slowest). The ones with speeds are the ones you want to download. After sorting by speed, look for the one with the most sources and get that one (if it is the real file you want). It takes some trial and error to figure things out. And downloads usually take a minute or two to start. Right clicking on the download in the "transfers" tab and chosing "find more sources" also helps

If you have a good virus scanner on (i use McAffe) it automatically scans the file for viruses when dowloaded. I don't encounter many viruses, unlike kazaa and winmx. there are occasional ones that get caught, but there aren't many
