help with processor change

I'm thinking about changing my processor, when I do change it do I need to reinstall windows at all? I was under the impression that windows installed specfically to your computers components, but I'm not really that sure. Can anyone help?

It's always a good idea to do a clean install whenever you change your compy's innards.
Processor, MB, even your graphics card.

Just make sure that the new processor is the same type of socket as your motherboard... Otherwise it'd be like trying to plug in a AA battery into something requiring a 9 volt.

Yeah, good thing I don't own a copy of windows....how much does it cost to get xp now? Its gotta be cheap with vista coming out.
