Help! Save meh!

So, Im playing EQ2 like normal. And bewm, headshot, my computer freezes. While this is no biggie and doesnt happen often at all, Im not too concerned. So, I hold down the restart button to kill power, then turn it back on. Then 3 words appear:

Missing Operating system


I have no idea what to do. Help!

Buy a new hard drive.
 
1. Go to harware store

2. Purchase biggest sledge hammer you can weild

3. Go home

4. Repeatedly smash computer with your newly purchased sledge hammer

5. Sit back and relax

ok ok ok........like Canuuk said prolly need a new HDD, hope you backed up the 100g or so porn you had stored.....lol.

I would try restarting a few times and see if it jsut wasn't some kind of glitch on the load that is correctable first though before you go spend the money on a new drive.
 
Nvm! My Masterboot something or other was messed up. But I fixed it (gasp) with a lil help from the Microsoft website.

Told ya so.........try to reboot a few times or so it might have been a glitch.

As for asking Hakan to play a caster toon..........rofl. That'd be like a kitten humping a giraffe, not possible.

Dude if your MBR got fucked up it could be a sign that more severe things are coming down the road.

Start backing up your data if you don't already...

Depends on the mobo and the HDD.

Hehe I have a 100 gig main disk and then the two 300 gigs are raided, and partitioned into three drives: apps, games and misc... :p No pr0n drive (although the third partition is filled up *giggles*)

My next PC will have at least a TB in it.

How do you find the speed for accessing it? Or is it just used for back up purposes?
 
Only half a year till Im off to college and get a sweet new rig. Im just gonna hope this one doesn't die. Thanks for the help tho guys :)
