Portfolio is something ima start work on once I get back to the states, everything I paint I sell..lol. What is an accepted portfolio these days, actual paintings or pictures of paintings?
I can use many mediums, and draw/paint amost anything, it's what im trained to do :/
Well tbh, in a perfect world both. I mean realistically carrying around huge canvas' of your work is just not easy nor expected. So yes, having some very high definition digital photo's, on CD, and printed, and if sold, figures to go with.
The idea, obviously is to put your mind, in that of anyone you wish to strike interest in your work, what questions could they ask, have an answer for everything.
Many of my friends who are artists in which ever field, (mostly computer games designers) at my universities in their last year, were encouraged to display their artwork on a website. Design their own, and show their skills, and their work so far. Most their work was already digital, and they were quiet use to working with the digital medium, so that was normal for them.
My business partner, did both digital artwork and hand drawn artwork. He didn't do anything bigger than A3, most were A4 sketches, but he had one big ass folder collecting of these, mostly concept art, much with notes and idea's attached to them.
He use this folder with all this concept art as part of his collective portfolio, and be described it as very useful, because it described often more going through notes and that than his digital stuff.
