Opinions About Starting To Work Out

Basically I have let myself slip, I am not fat or anything just not ripped like i used to be and well tired of it. I blame all of you people for making me play SWG!!! First and foremost, should I get a bench or join a gym?

Well, do you have the discipline to do it by yourself? Do you need to show off to the rest of the gymrats or use them as 'competition' while working out? Which winds up being cheaper?

yes, no but the feeling of a good body is part of my motivation, but not to make others feel bad. Not sure atm, cause a bench at home makes it convinent to work out, but will it being convinent make me lazy?

If you go to the gym will you use the excuse of "Oh I can't drive there today". If you think you will, do the home thing.

Closer to get into, closer to blow off. :) Its the discipline thing.

When I was at my most serious about being in shape, I was a roadie cyclist. Going out on a long solo ride was way different from being on a long solo breakaway. One just sucked, the other was pure pwnage. And both were alone. Strange how that works. That's what makes it so damn hard to get back into, I'd need two or three other bike noobs to suffer with on the road, all at or near the same level of fitness. Tall order.. and probably an excuse. I've got some work to do myself before I go looking for group-rides as it is :P

Get a home gym El-D. I have one and I find myself watching tv or listening to music while I work out. It is convienent for me. If I have to do something around the house I can stop for a minute and go do it then come right back. My home gym is also always there. If I can't get to the gym at a certain time I still have my home gym.........it is there 24/7/365.

That is my .02cents. A home gym can't be beat if you are looking for a good workout and you have the focus to use it regularly.

You can't beat the gym....if you really want to get into shape....the kind you're talking about.

Having multiple types of cardio at your disposal goes a long long way to getting yourself ripped.

I paid $500 for an XSport subscription for a year. I like it, i think its worth it. Not only is there a larger variety of excersizes you can do there than you can do at home, but you also get to watch hewt babes in spandex work out with you.

well the place I work at got reduced discounts to join gyms. I think watching the women would be good for cardio. I am trying to find a workout partner cause when I had one we would back each other and if I felt like sliding and not working out I would feel guilty I was letting her down.

I want to be strong enough to punch through people.

I'll be yer partner. Oh wait. Nvm.

Workout partner is necessary for benching. I always go either with my dad or my cousin. THing is, if its a close friends and stuff, they'll push you beyond limits. Like my cousin, he'll force me to bench 10 pounds more than i can handle, cause he knows i can do it. Whereas when you're alone, you get lazy
