Lesnar is a beast!

I was pulling for Randy 'Captain America' Couture all the way but Brock Lesnar made short work of him in the second round. Right now there is no one in the heavy weight roster to challenge Brock. Would love to see Dana White pull in Arlovski or Fedor to come in and beat Lesnar but I don't know if his purse is that big to have them on the roster and pull them away from Affliction right now. Arlovski and Fedor fight each other in January also.

I was hoping Randy could pull it off. And by the look of the first round he would have. Lesnar is big and he can throw his weight around, but that is about all I see. Randy showed him that he is not invincible. Randy stood there and took hard hits and knees and never dropped. I would say very impressive for a man of 45 years.
Lesnar got in a lucky stinger to the side of Randy's neck, that is all that gave him the win. Not mastery of skill or a masterful plan of attack.
I would like to see Lesnar and Noguera. And looking forward to GSP and Penn!!

Lesnar is the man, but it wasn't very impressive. He looked tired after the first minute. They just kept exchanging moves for a while until Brock got a lucky shot it and from there it was over. Not exactly a display of masterful skill.

Lesner pulled a "Serra" on Randy. (The upset and the location of the punch to get the upset), he was gassing out already fighting a 45 year old man who he outweighed by 45 pounds at the fight after only 5 minutes of fighting.

Do you honestly think there is no one who can beat him? He is an awful matchup against anyone with a ground game, like Mir and Noguera. Especially Nogeria, he can take any hit you throw at him and just wait till you make a mistake to lock on an ending submission. And Lesner makes lots of mistakes. You don't need Arlovski or Fedor to beat him, but guys like Herring and a 45 year old Couture are perfect for him to look "good".

I do admire his size and speed though, impressive.

After Nogueira whoops up on Mir he'll take Brock out.

Yeah, probably. Nogueria should win both fights, but the fight with Mir will be a great BJJ fight to watch whoever wins.

Yea Penn and GSP will be the best fight of the year. Both master technicians.

Up until Penn gasses in the 4th/5th round and GSP jumps all over him. The longer the fight goes, the worse it is for Penn. Then again if GSP just stands up and trades punches/kicks with Penn then it might go longer, which would be a lot of fun to watch.

And to think, he was the WWE champion 5 years ago, and now he's a legit fighter.
Yeah, and he's only getting better, while some of the other names mentioned in this thread have already peaked. Some people also forget he's a NCAA wrestling champ too...

yeah, he's new to ufc he has time to get better and better. and he might not have the greatest ground game but yes like Tott said he was a ncaa wrestler so he does know ground just not to the BJJ or Moithai standard.

Guys, he is already 32 years old and the NCAA championship was over 8 years ago. I actually see his window of opportunity to be quite small (maybe another 3-4 years, tops with that body type), with most of that time being spent trying to catch up on his ground game. With guys like Mir and Noguriera probably having 2-3 years left each, I think he is going to have a hard time dominating like folks are predicting.

Then again, he could pick up ground defense (doesn't need offense, he just needs to stop from being submitted faster than a pile of dry sticks) in 6 months and be the king for years, I doubt it, but you never know.

QFE. Wrestlers have some very serious weak points when it comes to the MMA-style ground game. By the time he's up to speed on the ground, he'll be pushing retirement.
