I think my eBay account has been hacked!

So, i've been getting emails from certian eBay that usually have been saying that their item has not come in, usually i've been just ignoring these until I recieved this:

"Hello, Yes, I would like to go ahead and use the (Second Chance Purchase Option)and purchase your Canon XL 2, item #7589825851 at the agreed upon price of $2,850.00. Please contact me at (432)699-8888 or via email. My name is Don DeSantis, Best Regards, Don"

Now $2,850.00 is some good money, and if this guy is getting caught up in fraud or something with MY account, i'm going to be in trouble.

I only use eBay to buy skateboarding supplies and vintage shirts, and when I go into my ebay account it shows no records of me getting anything or selling anything of to these standards; could it be an email address mixup?

Has anyone else gotten any of these? the email i'm getting them from is
aw-confirm@ebay.com

It just so happens ironicoly that my Paypal account was tampered with a few months ago, someone trying to retrieve $150.00, but my bank declied the charge made to take the money out, I have no idea what to do, i've already changed credit card numbers and bank information, maybe I should just call up ebay and cancel everything.

Worrrrd.

I hate the internet :(

It had happened to me too. I was getting emails with "thank you for your interest in item #...." and stuff. I logged into my ebay account and didn't see anything, so i was like, wtf, is this spam? But the sender was ebay. So i contacted ebay help and stuff, and they locked down my account for a day to investigate, and then used their live help service to talk to me live. Then they called me to confirm my indentity and stuff. Turns out, i had gotten one of those spoof ebay emails a while back, but on my public email account. at the time, it was late at night and it didn't click to me. So i clicked on the "verify password" thing and it took me to the page where i had to verify the password. So i type in my password, but BEFORE i hit OK i noticed the URL wasn't ebay, even though the site looked exactly like ebays. So i quickly closed the window. However, the site had a built-in keylogger, so the damage was done. They changed my password and stuff, and now my ebay is secure again :D

Yeah, I just had sent in an email about it, the first one they never responded to. Hopefully they can just cancel everything on the account, taking out the bank numbers and everything, hopefully.

if your paypal password was the same as your ebay password, you better change that too. Thats where the REAL damage can be done
